I love how Stastny is fitting in but I believe Raslovic next year can do exactly what Stastny is doing now at Center. also, we just don't have the cap space!!
I to am hard on Myers, I like him on our third pair but he's just not close to Trouba or Buff and Morrisey for that matter when it comes to worth to our team. I just think he should be moved in the summer to help with the cap. We do have Poolman, Chairot, Niku and even Nogier ( can anyone comment how he has looked for the Moose since returning from his season long injury?) People forget he played every game on that season ending win streak last year and although didn't always look great he could develop into a steady third pairing guy. |

Ross, Nogier hasn't played one game this year. He has been injured from day 1 of this years season. He is not playing at all.
Last game where the Moose lost in OT to Milwaukee, Poolman was apparently awesome. Niku, for being selected in the 7th round is a real good selection. 7th round folks. The scouts scored on Niku. But, I think if the Jets go dipping into the Moose roster, it will be Poolman first for a D. As for next year, I think Poolman might have an edge on a roster spot. Niku is coming along very well, but I suspect he might need another year in the A. Niku is not a big guy, smaller and lighter than Morrisey so he might need to add some pounds before he is ready for the show. |

Peter Tessier: From Devils to Flyers- what needs to change?
The Jets won the game but it wasn't without some touch and go moments that have to be tightened up before playing the next three opponents. - Peter.Tessier
Pete, I know that Hendricks took some pre game warm ups centering Wheeler and Connor but I believe that Little was their centre all night? Am I wrong, or did I have too many beer during the game? |

thanks Charlie,
I thought I read Nogier was back now, my bad. I remember the draft and Niku was actually there when drafted in the 7th round, they said it was because he expected he would go in round 3 or 4.

that's what I saw, Hendricks was between Tanev/Armia & PK. Little played up, Copp played up. |

He played with Armia and Tanev
It was Copp who moved up with Perreault and Roslovic

Call me crazy, but I do believe that Petan will have a breakout next year. Its evident that Chevy really likes him, however for some reason Maurice does not. If Stastny does not re-sign, it would not surprise me one bit to see Petan between Ehlers and Laine. |

I don't see it as a like or not like situation. I think both PoMo and the GMChevy know he is a good talent and are refining him by putting the heat on. If they don't think he is responding well he will be traded for assets. They are seeing it as a process, probably the only ones more impatient than Petan are the fans. |

Call ME crazy, but i would love to see Stasny resigned. I don't see how Petan or Roslivic can bring the experience, savy or face-off success that we are getting from Stasny. Perhaps it's a coincidence that Patrick and Nik seem "smarter" and are playing with more confidence - the puck is more often in the right place with Stasny. It also seems like Roslovic is being groomed as a winger.
So what could Cheveldayoff do? So much revolves around Trouba, here or not, and its anybody's guess about that. Do we have to keep Myers if we can't sign Trouba? Either way, I agree with Ross77 that we are a weaker team with Myers in the top 4. I actually feel better about Kulikov in the top 4 (as I turn a blind eye to his brain fart on the Palmeri goal last night).......
My Dream:
81-55-26
29-25-27
85-18-52
9-17-40
44-8
39-33
5-3

We simply cannot afford to keep Stastny. Not even for an extra year without causing cap issues. Myers is likely moved in the summer already, with Little inevitably moving to Seattle. Mason is likely gone, too.
As for the experience, savvy (lolwut), and faceoff prowess... who cares? Roslovic and Petan are NHL ready. Put them together, let them loose, and profit. The only way they’ll get the experience is by playing, and they’re both have the hockey IQ to dominate the second best league in the world. Roslovic was the #1 PK guy for the Moose. It’s not an issue of what they can and can’t do, it’s an issue of deployment.
Roslovic is a better player than Paul Stastny in a years time.
Faceoffs make very little difference over the course of the season, so that doesn’t concern me either. Even Maurice seems to agree, as everyone hyped Hendricks as a FO expert, and he’s been our worst regular faceoff man all year (the gap between him and everyone else gets a lot worse for his defensive zone and PK FO%), but you can bet your ass he’s still taking tons of draws. |

Looks like Kuli and Enstrom are out so Morrow and Poolman are in.
Dennis Beyak just interviewed Copp, very well spoken, knowledgeable and insightful player. When this guy's career is done, he will be a coach. |

-Not sure how we would get rid of Mason, but one can hope.
- I would submit that 29-25-27 Are currently our most effective line, even with Scheifele back, but that's subjective on my part. I'm not analyticly savy. Can you fill in the blanks here?
-For whatever reason, the Jets seem to be grooming Roslovic as a winger. Wasn't Petan his center on the Moose? So I don't really see how we can reasonably speculate on Roslovic's future as a quality center.
-Yes, faceoffs are a minor indicator of success - Tampa is one of the worst in the league- but I would still rather have the puck as not.
-it also seems like Hendricks is talking less face offs lately. Again one can only hope.

Stasny last 4 seasons:
Corsi - 54.4/53.5/50.4/55.4
Fenwick- 54.9/53.9/51.0/56.3
TK/GV - 28/9, 20/7, 24/9, 38/16
FO% - 58.3/56.1/55.7/55.1
If you are going to drag Wheeler across the carpet for his poor analytics, it seems you should be in love with Stasny's "savy"..... |

I’ve never dragged Wheeler across anything. He’s still elite. He’s just having a rough year for his normal standards. Across the board, as well, but it’s likely due to him having to play 25 minutes a night out of position for 20 games. The guy is a massive negative when they force him in the middle. |
